CAVO interprets spotlights in a revolutionary new way. Suspended ceilings fully conceal the innovative integrated housing. As if from nowhere, CAVO produces a spotlight effect with no visible source. The round or square housing, for trimless installation in plasterboard ceilings, uses a tool-free magnetic holder to almost imperceptibly accommodate up to three adjustable cylindrical spotlights. Magnet attachment means that these spotlights can be freely positioned without tools. The focused spotlights, with a patented slider, accommodate flexible adjustment of the light beam. In addition, the Glowing version provides effective backlighting. With an iOS device and the XAL X-TALK App, it can be controlled wirelessly via ZigBee 3.0. The employees of internationally leading Emma – The Sleep Company are dedicated to good sleep. Their offices cover three floors and 4,500 m². The architectural firm VRAI was commissioned to create an attractive and varied workplace at Emma’s headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. We turn night into day, in the best possible sense – and that should be immediately clear to visitors. In the "Emmis" office, recreation has the importance suggested by their products. Classic office spaces alternate with retreat zones for focussed individual work; open spaces promote exchange, and so-called Nap Stations are an invitation to recharge empty batteries horizontally. The place is Oer-Erkenschwick, in the heart of the Ruhr region - an area pockmarked by disused mines - the so-called “Zechen” or collieries. One of them is “Zeche Ewald Fortsetzung”, which was bought by Yesser Falfoul - a man with a vision: His plan is to revitalise the site, which was shut down in the 1990s, with a multi-faceted design concept and make it accessible to the public. The striking iconic halls of the former colliery are to house restaurants, a concept store and a lighting shop. The “Magazin”, the largest of the brick buildings, featuring an almost ornamental façade, was to take centre stage - so Falfoul focused on interior design in harmony with the striking architecture. Concrete, steel and glass are the characteristic materials of the old colliery building. Huge corners and sturdy pillars - typical hallmarks of the industrial style - exude a vibe of solidity built to last for centuries. Find out more about the project on our website.

For ewo, Dynamic Lighting is not a technological end in itself. Smart lighting always has further purpose, be it safety, wellbeing or a special lighting experience. Beyond standard scenarios, we take Dynamic Lighting to the next level. Combining light distributions in the same luminaire allows it to react according to its surroundings. Chiaroscura owes its distinctive personality to the delightful lighting effect and to the original sync between form and function. Designed by Alberto Meda and Francesco Meda, Chiaroscura stems from a design challenge: to explore the possibility of enhancing the functionality of a classic luminator, which by definition only emits indirect up light. The elegant and lightweight body, which is totally illuminated and not just illuminating, was the goal which led to the definition of the shape, the choice of materials and manufacturing technologies. Simultaneously understated yet packed with character, it is a discrete presence that masks a concealed technical complexity, in the spirit of Foscarini.

A new perspective, an updated viewpoint, an evolution in the way Foscarini operates in relation to its products. The VITE (LIVES) project reflects the desire to make people the central focus, to talk about light not starting with the lamp – those who have designed, developed and produced it – but about those who live with it inside their own intimate space: the home.
